Last week Jimmy, Kelly, Leo and I took all three dogs (Ella, Layla and Reggie) to the vet. All of the procedures involved a needle so we needed each other for moral support. Also, Reggie has some pigmentation on his stomach and I wanted to make sure he did not have internal bleeding as a result of all of the "dog play" that goes on basically everywhere in our house.
Led by Kelly, our entrance into the vet's office was memorable. Kelly was sporting a giant knot on her forehead..something special Ella had given for her college graduation this weekend. No worries, she only wobbles a little.
Reggie, not realizing that he is not a big dog, took on a giant animal with his head wrapped in a bandage. Kelly grabbed him immediately.
Ella hid in the corner and Layla acted as though she learned something at obedience class. The vet staff ushered all of us into an examining room where, Jimmy, proceeded to open all the drawers and touch all the "vet only" tools.
All is well. Reggie has gained 13 pounds during his first month in Del Mar and does not have internal bleeding : ) . Only one person was dizzy during the shots. The vet did mentioned that it was always fun when our family had an appointment. (I hope she meant that in a good way...she did seem emphasize the word "FUN". )
One of our livelier discussions since the appointment centers around having Reggie fixed. The surgery is scheduled in three weeks. Jimmy and Leo are having a hard time with the idea and have tried to convince me that the dog needs neuticles.
My good friend Terri is now living on the East coast and she is the mother to a 4 month old, golden retriever, Kas.
Terri and Walter love this dog and spend alot of time training her. Kas is not allowed on the bed or the furniture... poor thing : )
Love to all. Debbie

What a great find! I just bought them new bowls with little islands in the middle. It stops them from eating so fast and reduces the amount of doggie gas. I know a few people that could use these bowls. Hee hee.
